Before there were the #4littleAdams, there were #2coolparents. I’d like to think we’re still pretty cool, but you get my point, sometimes a little bit of all that coolness can rub off during the tiny kid years. Ten years ago, after we said our “I Dos” in a beautiful ceremony outside of Philadelphia and finished dancing the night away with friends and family, we jetted off to Turks and Caicos for a full week to celebrate our first trip as Mr. and Mrs. It would be both of our first trip to the Island and I was simply over the moon with excitement.
Before I get to the beauty of the Island, I have to address the beauty of my husband’s hand. I still remember sitting in the airport waiting for our flight, when I looked down and caught a glimpse of his wedding ring on his finger. Just the morning before that finger was empty and now it carried the symbol of a lifetime of love before us. It still brings tears to my eyes remembering how it filled me warmth.
What’s The Best Turks and Caicos Resort for Couples?
Okay, enough of my sentimental reminiscing. Let’s skip to the good part! Accommodations are always one of the most important aspects of a trip for me. Luckily, they are for my husband as well. He planned the entire honeymoon by himself and only told me how to pack in preparation…he’s always been such a romantic. He ended up selecting the Seven Stars Resort on Grace Bay. It was phenomenal! I mean, that’s truly it in one word.
The views were breathtaking. I’ve never seen water so stunningly blue before, and the sand feels like a soft pillow you can sink your toes into.
The property has delicious dining options, especially it’s flagship restaurant – Seven. Pro tip: make reservations before your arrival to get your preferred time. As delicious as the food is on property, you will really miss out on the local flavor if you don’t get off property and walk around. There are various yummy restaurants to try, so venture out if you can.
Excursions In Grace Bay
On our second day on the island, we took a short trip out for some snorkeling with a group from the hotel. We continued wandering away once the boat anchored and stumbled upon a private alcove of beach. It was absolutely perfect. We spent almost all of our time there. I’ll just say it’s the perfect spot for honeymooners who want a little public privacy (wink).
Are you into caves? Yes? Great! The hotel will book a cave tour for you. It’s magical and pictures don’t do it justice. You’ll spend hours exploring and hearing about the inner working of the cave system. It’s fascinating, and the photo opportunities are endless.
If you’re looking for lowkey and free excursions, the hotel offers free water activities, including kayaking, paddle boards, and snorkel gear. Since we were on honeymoon, we didn’t exactly want to be super over scheduled, so we only did a couple of excursions and spend the rest of the time enjoying the resort.
If Turks is on your list, get ready to have a great time. I can’t wait until we get back over there!
Happy Travels!
