The kids made it to their fifth country – Canada!! After wrapping up our Detroit trip, we decided to road trip across the Ambassador Bridge to Ontario and set out for Niagara Falls. Oh what fun we had!
Where to stay in Niagara Falls?
Turns out Niagara Falls is like a mini Las Vegas, so hotels are abundant. However, there are only a select amount that have views of the water falls. And let’s be clear, who wants to stay in Niagara without the beautiful view?
We chose to stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Falls View. Each room is a two bedroom suite, with plenty of room for the whole family. Make sure you specify that you want to be on the View side of the hotel.
At night, you’ll be able to see the Falls light up, and between May and October you can even enjoy the nightly fireworks show right from your suite.
Other Niagara Falls Hotels with Fall Views:
- Niagara Falls Marriot Fallsview Hotel & Spa
- Sheraton On The Falls
- Hilton Hotel & Suites Niagara Falls Fallsview
- Niagara Falls Marriot On The Falls
- Radisson Hotel & Suites Fallsview
- Four Points By Sheraton Niagara Falls Fallsview
- Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino
- Crowne Plaza Hotel – Niagara Falls
Other Ways To Enjoy the Falls
My favorite way to enjoy the Falls is by boat ride. We floated down the Niagara River with Niagara City Cruises. Take note that Niagara City Cruises is the only boat operator from the Canadian side of the Falls. When I went over a decade ago, we went on Maid of the Midst, but they no longer service Canada.
The best thing about enjoying the Falls by boat is that you get down into the Gorge and not only enjoy the view, but you can feel the mist. At times, you may or may not get soaked despite wearing the ponchos. Make sure to keep you cell phone protected with a waterproof case because I promise you it will get soaked. This is my favorite waterproof cell phone case. It even fits larger cell phones, like my pixel 6 pro.
Other Way To Experience The Niagara Falls:
- Journey Behind The Falls – If you want a really unique view of the Falls, you can take a self guided tour through a system of tunnels that lead to an observation deck right on the side of the falls. It looks spectacular.
- Whirlpool Aero Car Ride – Hop on the historic Whirlpool Aero Car for an unforgettable ride over the vibrant, teal-colored waters of the Niagara River. Witness spectacular views of the swirling Niagara Whirlpool and the river’s Class 6 rapids as you soar 3,500 feet above the Niagara Gorge.
- Niagara Falls Zipline – How cool would it be to zip over the Falls?? Well, you’ll actually be flying high over the Niagara Gorge, but right in front of you is the majesty of the Falls.
- Niagara SkyWheel – Hop on one of these enclosed gondolas for a cool experience above Niagara Falls. The views of the Falls from this perspective is super cools, because you can also take in the rest of the Clifton Hill and surrounding areas.
Where To Eat With A Perfect View of Niagara Falls?
We snagged lunch reservations at Table Rock House, which is perfectly situated to provide the most stunning Fall views while dining. I’ll admit that options were not abundant, but the food was pretty good. However, the highlight is the view, hands down. Make sure to request a window table, but even if you are set back a bit, the views are unmistakably gorgeous.
There Is More To Niagara Than The Falls
While our main purpose for heading to Niagara Falls was for the Falls itself, there is a ton more to do. As a huge tourist draw, variety is key, and Niagara does it well.
If you want to give the kids a real treat, you have to make some time to enjoy Clifton Hill. It’s family friendly fun right down the street from the Falls. From Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, to Niagara Speedway, and even bowling and mini-golf, there is so much to do.
And, if your kids are like mine, they are always on the hunt for a water park. There is one of those as well. Check out Fallsview Waterpark for all the water fun you can stand.
If you have a big family as we do, check out the Clifton Hill Fun Pass to save on multiple attractions.
Lastly, the promenade along the actual Falls is also a gorgeous park like setting where you can picnic, play, people watch, or just relax. We spent a large part of the day down there just taking in the scenery and enjoying time with the family.
However you decide to finalize your itinerary, you are sure to have a wonderful time in Niagara Falls! Enjoy!
Happy Travels!
