My Honey and I love dating. He loves the symphony, performing arts, and high-end dinners; I love all that and just about anything else that includes us spending quality time together. I always try to find cool, new adventures for us to try as well. So, I was thrilled when Facebook spammed me incessantly with an experience ad from AmazingCo called “Mystery Picnic.” After ignoring the ad for about a month, I finally looked into it and knew we had to go on this cool adventure.
Our adventure began the evening before our scheduled picnic. We received our first clue and got to work trying to figure out the next day’s starting point. We got to solve clues that took us all around Uptown Dallas collecting cool treats from upscale boutique shops for our basket. All of the staff in the various boutiques were so kind and got a real kick out of giving us our clues.
The scavenger hunt ended with our final clue sending us to a beautiful park in Turtle Creek where we had fun eating and chatting and laughing, oh and singing along to 90s r&b (we brought along the wireless speaker to really set the mood (wink).
We live in the Dallas suburbs, so I was initially concerned that we’d have a hard time cracking the clues, since we don’t know all areas of the City. However, the clues were easy enough, but not too easy that it wasn’t a fun challenge. So, don’t worry if you’re not super familiar with the area, go for it anyway.
This was a walking scavenger hunt, and we did this while I was 7 months pregnant in June. Did I mention this was in Dallas, Texas?? Can you say Hott! And, hot plus pregnant meant I was just a tad bit tired with all that walking. We actually cheated and grabbed a Lyft for the final two clues, lol. Blame it on my swollen ankles. If I hadn’t been carrying around my bowling ball, it would have been a breeze to walk the whole thing. It was really cool to take in all the sights while strolling such a beautiful area of Dallas.
Normally, AmazingCo provides a picnic for each couple, but because covid tried to ruin everything, they suspended shared baskets for safety. No problem, I headed to amazon and found the cutest basket, complete with a blanket, silverware, wine glasses (actual glass and not cheesy plastic), and plates. It was perfect! Check it out here.
If you’re looking for a unique, fun, and yummy day date, check out AmazingCo’s Mystery Picnic. You won’t regret it.
Happy Dating!
